PENS and Japan Create Group Introduce Free Japanese Language Training and Career Pathway Program for STEM Students

Surabaya, June 2026 — Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS), through an exclusive partnership with Japan Create Group, introduced the Japanese Language Training and Career Opportunity Program in Japan, a strategic initiative designed to prepare active STEM students for global professional opportunities. The program aims to equip students with Japanese language proficiency and provide a structured pathway toward full-time engineering careers in Japan’s technology and manufacturing sectors.

As global demand for skilled engineers continues to grow, this collaboration offers PENS students a valuable opportunity to strengthen both their language competence and international career readiness. During the socialization event, Mr. Keisuke Nakazawa, representing the Japan Create Group, alongside instructor and moderator Ms. Sri Wulandari, comprehensively outlined the program’s structure to the attendees. Through this program, participants will undergo a 1.5-year Japanese language training course with the main target of achieving the JLPT N3 level, which is widely recognized as an important qualification for working in Japan.

One of the key highlights of the program is its fully funded training scheme. Japan Create Group will cover 100% of the tuition and operational costs, allowing selected students to participate without paying course fees. Students are only responsible for purchasing textbooks. To encourage commitment and consistent participation, the program also applies a Rp300,000 deposit system, which will be fully refunded to students who maintain at least 90% attendance throughout the training period.

Beyond language learning, the program is designed as a comprehensive career preparation platform. Once students successfully achieve JLPT N3, Japan Create Group will provide free career matching services and direct interview opportunities with Japanese companies. Participants will also receive support related to visa processing and relocation assistance, helping them transition more smoothly into professional life in Japan.

In addition to its career-oriented benefits, the program is also planned to receive academic recognition at PENS. For D3 and D4 students, participation in the training may be converted into official academic credits (SKS) for foreign language courses, provided that students meet the minimum 70% attendance requirement and pass the final examination. This academic integration reflects PENS’ commitment to supporting international exposure as part of students’ formal learning experience.

The first batch of the program is highly exclusive, with capacity limited to only 90 students. Participants will be divided into three offline classes held at the PENS Surabaya campus. Classes are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday to ensure that the training does not interfere with regular lectures, allowing students to balance academic responsibilities and language preparation effectively.

Through this collaboration, PENS and Japan Create Group hope to open wider access for students to pursue global careers, particularly in Japan’s rapidly advancing technology and manufacturing industries. The program is expected to enrich students’ professional journeys, strengthen their competitiveness in the international job market, and further support PENS’ mission to prepare graduates who are ready to contribute beyond national borders.
